Biography:

Marc Blanc is a PhD candidate in English and American Literature at Washington University in St. Louis. He joined the CBDR in 2021 to work with the Colored Conventions Project, serving on the Digital Archives and Curriculum committees. His research interest in the nineteenth-century Black Press and print-based activism has led him to work on locating and digitizing the political petitions that Colored Conventions delegates produced and circulated. He has also helped to develop approaches to teaching the Colored Conventions movement for college and high school students. Before coming to the CBDR, he was part of a team centered at Washington University that improved the accuracy of hundreds of digitized early modern texts. On the weekends, he likes to play the drums. You can connect with him on Twitter, @marcablanc.
