Biography:

Jewon Woo is a Professor of English at Lorain County Community College, Ohio. She serves as a JT Mellon Satellite Partner at the Center for Black Digital Research in 2023-24, with a focus on  the Colored Conventions Movement in Ohio, Michigan, Pennsylvania, and Kansas in collaboration with the CCP team. Her research areas include topics about Black Print Culture, Black periodicals, performance, 19th-century American culture and literature, critical race theory, community-based pedagogy and pedagogy for under-represented students, and digital humanities.
