Biography:

Moyra is a Ph.D. student in the Department of History at Penn State. She is dually affiliated with the Center for Black Digital Research and the Richards Civil War Era Center at the university. Moyra holds a Bachelor of Arts in international studies from Dickinson College and a Master of Arts in history from Villanova University. Her research explores Civil War veterans’ welfare. In particular, she is interested in how veterans’ homes, pensions, and prosthetic device programs impacted individuals and families throughout the post-war period.
