Biography:

Kesla Elmore is a dual-title PhD student in English and African American and Diaspora Studies, and a Bunton-Waller Graduate Fellow at Penn State University. She became a #DigBlk scholar in the Center for Black Digital Research working with the Black Women's Organizing Archive's paper locator project in 2021. Elmore was also a 2020 Cooper DuBois Mentoring program fellow. She earned her Master of Arts degree in English Literature from the University of Kentucky in 2020, and her Bachelor of Arts in English from Morgan State University in 2018. Her research interests include Black girlhood, 20th and 21st century African American literature, the great migration, media, digital humanities, and popular culture studies.
